BEHAVIOURAL CONSULTATIONS

Experiencing behavioural issues with your dog can be stressful and upsetting. I can help you  with many different problems which include:

Sessions last approx 3 hours in your home, during which time I will carefully assess the issues with you. My aim is to help you understand your dog's behaviours and the reasoning behind them. This will ultimately improve the relationship between you.

I will teach you ways to handle your dog using modern techniques and positive reinforcement where ever possible. This will help you build confidence to manage and modify the unwanted behaviours.

​

I will provide a full written report and offer ongoing support via telephone/email/whats app, whichever is best.

1-2-1 OUTDOOR TRAINING SESSIONS 

To achieve the very best outcome, these sessions are only available to handlers following a new puppy package or a behavioural consultation.

 

Sessions are fun, informative but informal, and tailored to meet the specific needs of both dog and handler.

 

1-2-1 sessions allow more time to explain why the individual dog does what it does and why we use the particular training methods we do, without experiencing the distractions which come when training in a group.

​

As a result the dog and handler will have a greater understanding of one another, the relationship will become more balanced, the bond will grow stronger and consequently the dog will be more responsive to the training.

NEW PUPPY PACKAGE

From the age of 8 weeks I offer early training, practical advice and support which will help you to build a strong, healthy, balanced relationship with your new puppy. The package includes 4 sessions during which we cover:

 

  • Crate and toilet training

  • Daytime and night time routines

  • Learn how to keep your puppy calm

  • Car travel

  • Feeding and treats

  • Nipping and chewing

  • The importance of rest

  • How to encourage your puppy to listen

  • Exercise and how to achieve loose lead walking

  • Learning ‘yes’ and ‘no’

  • Fun training games to encourage desired behaviour

  • Advice and ideas for appropriate play and socialization.

This package will give your puppy the very best start and you will have my full support during those crucial early weeks of puppy’s development, ultimately making life and further training so much easier for everyone!

UK SNIFFER DOGS SCENT DETECTION

Dogs see the world through their nose, with their smell being 100,000 times stronger than our own. Consequently, understanding this sense can strengthen your relationship with your dog, and provides them with valuable mental stimulation - 10 minutes scent work is the equivalent to a 1 hour run!

It is suitable for all breeds of any age and plays a huge part in behaviour reformation including reactivity, anxiety, hyperactivity, and nervousness.

 

We keep class sizes small to ensure clients are given the time they need.

Bronze Level Workshop £195.00

 

  • ​Four, 2 hour workshops where you will learn the fascinating facts of scent work and develop the skill to teach your dog scent identification, indication and search pattern.

  • We will progress to combining these elements and take a closer look at the dogs body language to recognize indication within more challenging environments while searching new and novel environments.

  • You will receive a pocket size scent kit to allow you to practice at home, as well as information handouts.

  • Upon completion you will receive a certificate and rosette for your achievement and you will be eligible to compete in any UK Sniffer Dogs Bronze Trials!

  • Having completed the two workshops, an optional opportunity to run your dogs and compete against the clock in a novel environment.

  • Certificates and rosettes awarded to the top three competitors.

PUPPY & DOG SWIMMING SESSIONS

Did you know that not all dogs can naturally swim? Though most dogs will attempt a doggy paddle, not all dogs are strong swimmers and may panic in the water. 
Swimming sessions are a great way to build a dog's confidence in the water and make sure they can swim!

 

In the session, your dog will: 

​

  • Have a life jacket fitting to make sure they will be safe and allow the puppy to be held in the water.

  • The dog will be slowly introduced into the pool down an AstroTurf ramp. 

  • Once in the water, the dog will gain experience swimming. We aim to build your dog's confidence at their own pace. 


The swimming sessions are held in groups of 4 dogs, meaning that this is also a great opportunity for appropriate socialisation and managing excitement levels. 

​

One dog will be in the water at a time, with the trainer and/or owner, whilst the other dogs and owners can wait at the side.
